Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, it's time for the adventure to truly begin as we set off for Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania's most spectacular wildlife reserves and famous for its enormous elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and incredible diversity of wildlife.

We'll spend the day exploring the park on our first unforgettable game drive, keeping our eyes peeled for elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and countless other animals that call Tarangire home. Enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the African wilderness before continuing our search for wildlife throughout the afternoon.

As the sun begins to set, we'll make our way to our beautiful safari lodge, where you can relax, soak in the stunning surroundings, and relive the day's incredible wildlife encounters over dinner.

Mto wa Mbu & Masai Cultural Experience

Today we swap safari tracks for village life as we immerse ourselves in the vibrant community of Mto wa Mbu, one of Tanzania's most culturally diverse villages.

Together we'll explore the village by bicycle, meeting local families, visiting small farms and markets, learning about traditional farming techniques, and gaining a fascinating insight into everyday life in rural Tanzania. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to sample local produce, interact with the community, and experience the incredible warmth and hospitality that Tanzania is known for.

In the afternoon we will visit the Masai village where we will learn more about the local lifestyle, visit their houses and hear about ancient traditions and believes.

After a memorable day of cultural discovery, we'll return to our lodge for an afternoon at leisure. Relax by the pool, soak in the beautiful surroundings, or simply unwind before another exciting safari adventure awaits tomorrow.

Ngorongoro Crater Safari & Community Visit

After breakfast, we'll make our way to one of Africa's greatest natural wonders - the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Often referred to as the "Eighth Wonder of the World," this UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife anywhere on the planet.

Descending 600 metres into the crater, we'll spend the day exploring this remarkable natural amphitheatre on an unforgettable game drive. Keep your camera ready as we search for lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, flamingos, hyenas, and, if we're lucky, the endangered black rhino. We'll pause for a picnic lunch surrounded by the incredible scenery before continuing our wildlife adventure.

On our way back to the lodge, we'll visit a local school, offering a meaningful opportunity to connect with the community and gain a deeper appreciation for everyday life in rural Tanzania.

This evening, relax and enjoy one final night before we begin our journey into the legendary Serengeti tomorrow.

Quietly tucked away on the top of a hill in rural Africa and, at the same time, located in the very heart of the Northern Tanzania safari circuit Rhotia Valley Tented Lodge breathes the atmosphere of true Africa. The lodge is built with indigenous hardwood and in traditional African style. It is in complete harmony with its surroundings. Yet, its spacious set up, personal and friendly service and its finishing touches, such as cozy sofas around the fireplace and warm decorative details, provide a perfectly balanced luxury. With only fifteen individual tents, Rhotia Valley has an intimate charm. Each of the comfortable tented houses has its own veranda with splendid view. The bathrooms are provided with hot and cold running water, shower and flush toilet. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served in our open dining area.

Into the Heart of the Serengeti

This morning, we set off for one of the most iconic wildlife destinations on Earth, the legendary Serengeti National Park.

The journey itself is all part of the adventure as we travel through breathtaking landscapes before arriving on the endless plains that have made the Serengeti famous. Along the way, keep your eyes peeled as wildlife sightings can begin long before we reach our camp.

After lunch, we'll head out on our first Serengeti game drive, venturing across the vast savannah in search of lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and the incredible array of wildlife that calls this remarkable ecosystem home. Every game drive is unique, with each turn offering the possibility of an unforgettable wildlife encounter.

As the sun begins to dip below the horizon, we'll arrive at our beautiful tented safari camp, where you'll experience the magic of spending the night in the heart of the African wilderness. Fall asleep to the sounds of nature and prepare for even more incredible adventures awaiting us tomorrow.

Journey to the Great Migration

Today, we venture deeper into the Serengeti as we make our way north in search of one of nature's greatest spectacles - the Great Migration.

Game viewing continues throughout the journey as we travel across the ever-changing landscapes of the Serengeti, where every turn offers the chance to spot lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and vast herds of wildlife roaming the plains.

As we reach the Northern Serengeti, we'll explore one of the park's most remote and wildlife-rich regions. During migration season, this area becomes home to enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra as they make their remarkable journey towards the Mara River, closely followed by Africa's iconic predators.

After an unforgettable afternoon game drive, we'll arrive at our migration tented camp, where you'll spend the evening surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness under a sky filled with stars.

Nyikani Migration Camp

Nyikani migration camps located in the Serengeti ecosystem, moves twice a year to ensure its guests are very well placed to witness the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra. From December through March, the migration moves in and out of the Ndutu area. Ndutu is located in Ngorongoro Conservation Area, just south of Serengeti National Park. Nyikani migration camp location provides easy access to prime game viewing areas around Lakes Ndutu and Masek. In addition to the almost two million wildebeest and zebra that move through the area each year, Ndutu is home to cheetah, lion, giraffe and hundreds of bird species. During February’s calving season, the wildebeest give birth to 8,000 babies a day. From late May through October, The Camp is located in Northern Serengeti. The camp is close to the Mara River, allowing easy access to several river crossing points in the area. During this time of year, the wildebeest migration is crossing the Mara River back and forth from Tanzania to Kenya. River crossings are common with crocodiles, hippos and large cats scattered throughout the area.

Northern Serengeti Safari - Great Migration

Today is dedicated to exploring the breathtaking wilderness of the Northern Serengeti, giving us every opportunity to experience this extraordinary ecosystem at its very best.

We'll spend the day on safari, venturing across the vast plains in search of Africa's most iconic wildlife. From prides of lions and elusive leopards to towering elephants, graceful giraffes, playful hippos, and enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra, every game drive offers something completely unique. During migration season, we'll also keep watch for dramatic river crossings and unforgettable predator-prey encounters that make this region world-famous.

We'll enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by the African wilderness before continuing our adventure into the afternoon, making the most of our final full day on safari.

As the sun sets over the Serengeti, we'll gather for one last evening together in the bush, reflecting on the incredible wildlife encounters, unforgettable moments, and memories we've shared throughout this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

After one final breakfast in the heart of the Serengeti, we'll transfer to Kogatende Airstrip for our scenic bush flight back to Arusha, offering a spectacular bird's-eye view of the vast landscapes we've spent the past week exploring.

Upon arrival in Arusha, we'll transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey home.

As our expedition comes to an end, we hope you leave with a camera full of incredible wildlife photographs, unforgettable memories of Africa's breathtaking landscapes, and friendships that will last long after the adventure is over.
